Netherlands' originating Parakar Group was founded by Johan Opperman in 2001, and ever since it supported global employment setups with Europe as destination. The company's expertise in global mobility setups, from 2014 gave it a head start when the concept of EOR started to materialize globally, and Parakar became one of the thought leaders on how to implement EOR in Europe. As a result, many of the current global players in the EOR space, built their service-offering for many European countries basically on the foundation of Parakar's backend employment hosting solutions.
After having handed the company to his daughter and successor Pleun, Johan continues as independent EOR consultant offering knowledge, training and advice from 25 years of industry experience to all stakeholders around EOR, again with a focus on its European context.
Johan is member of the WEC (World Employment Confederation) Public Affairs committees, and a guest/advisory member of the GEIO (Global Employment Innovation Organisation) Government Affairs Committee.
