Visa Requirements

How to obtain a support letter for a VISA request as a Business Visitor to Canada?

When attending a registered international conference in Canada your VISA applications will be flagged for priority processing under Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Business Event and conference visitors program. To avoid delays and unnecessary processing times please click here for complete details. Note: throughout the process our conference registered number issued by the Canadian government is #26WECC.

Make sure your application is complete (invitation letter from the conference, evidence of business purpose, accommodation/travel evidence, funds, etc.)—this helps avoid delays. Your completed letter will be prepared and issued immediately upon request. Contact Amanda Curtis for your copy.

Because timelines vary by country, check the IRCC tool for your specific country of application.

Apply well in advance of your travel date—several weeks to a few months, depending on your country and circumstances, to reduce risk of missing the event ACSESS/WEC Conference 2026.

The following is for general reference:

  • A temporary resident VISA (TRV) or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to travel to Canada. For information about the TRV and eTA application processes, see: Visit Canada. To find out if you need a TRV or eTA to travel to Canada, see: Find out if you need a VISA to travel to Canada
  • If you require a VISA to travel to Canada, you must verify VISA processing times for your region and apply for your VISA accordingly.
  • Participants may be automatically directed to apply via the IRCC Portal.  However, all participants applying for a VISA to attend an event which is registered with IRCC, should apply for their visitor VISA via the IRCC Secure Network by clicking on this this link: IRCC Secure Network.
